At his very first opportunity Bush gave a recess appointment to Bolton. This in spite of the really quite overwhelming opposition from both Democrats and Republicans. This can only be seen as a deliberate slap in the face to the Senate. One wonders, as Bush claims to be concerned about his legacy, why he would have done this? It seems obvious to me he did it because Dick the Slimy (probably the single most evil person on earth) told him to do it. Having done what he was told he can now go off on still another month long vacation, cutting brush for the cameras on his fake ranch. There is no question about it, Bolton is clearly Cheney's "man," not particularly Bush's. As Bush is a lame duck president what does he care one way or the other. He and the rest of neocons have made no secret of their contempt for the U.N. and no one has been more so than Bolton. Don't look for any positive results to come from this outrageous appointment.
What with the Bolton fiasco and the growing Roberts controversy they have managed to take the heat of Rove, who, as I understand it, was just given a $4000 raise in salary. CNN has not mentioned the Rove scandal and even Democracy Now, to my dismay, seems to have done the same thing. What is it about treason and lying us into an unnecesary "war" that is not newsworthy. And what is not newsworthy about a male homosexual prostitute in the White House? I truly believe we may be doomed as the Fascists have managed to completely take over. Not only do they control all branches of government, they have no meaningful opposition. Furthermore, as there seems to be no significant interest in election reform, and Republicans still contol the voting machines, what do you think will be the outcome of the next elections? Our wonderful country is in dire straits indeed, and it can all be traced to Dick the Slimy and the neocons.
And don't believe the BS about getting out of Iraq. They have no plans to ever get out of that unfortunate country. At least not as long as their is any oil to exploit. The recent energy bill is nothing more than a sick joke, along with the highway bill and CAFTA, all touted as great victories for the Bushies. Our country is sick, sick, sick, and there is no cure in sight.

“The UN Charter is fundamentally a political, not a legal document. On finances it amounts to little more than an ‘agreement to agree.’”
